2026 Pembrokeshire Coastal Path Walk

Update - 10 September 2026

The walk is going really well. Richard is enjoying seeing a different set of beaches than we normally see when we are in Pembrokeshire. He has been joined by various friends and colleagues along the way and has been very lucky with the weather, with no rain whilst walking. Tomorrow he will start the second half of the walk with Owen joining him and more colleagues. We have nearly reached the target of £10,000 which is incredible!

Follow their progress on Instagram at @ellarosefund.

Richard, Ella's dad, is walking the 186 mile long Pembrokeshire Coast Path in September to raise money for the ERF. It will take him a gruelling 16 days to walk from Amroth in South Pembrokeshire to St Dogmaels in the north. He will be joined for half of the walk by Owen, Ella's brother.

They are doing this with the support of Acuity Law, with friends and some of the firm's employees walking too. Also supporting Richard and Owen are TYF Adventure based in St Davids, Pembrokeshire. TYF have very generously offered to donate the cost of their available 'adventures' for a limited number of people - coasteering, kayaking, paddleboarding, surfing, rock climbing - so you pay to have the adventure and the ERF benefits.

Watch this space for more information and maybe even join them on some of their challenge! The timetable of the walk is below.

If you want to join Richard and Owen on some of the walk or take up TYF's offer, please get in touch with Julia by email at info@ellarosefund.uk.

2026 Men's Six Nations

Update

We made £200!!

We are running the Men's Six nations rugby competition once again, £10 entry as usual, £20 to the winner.

2025 Three Peaks Challenge

Acuity Law arranged a 3 Peaks Challenge in the Brecon Beacons to raise money for the ERF through sponsorship of the walkers. Richard and Owen (Ella's father and brother) joined 10 other walkers and a dog and climbed Corn Ddu, Pen y Fan and the Crybbyn as part of a 16km walk.

£1600 was raised through sponsorship and Acuity Law generously matched the first £1000, giving a total of £2600 raised for the Ella Rose Fund. Thank you to all who organised the walk, those who took part and the sponsors.

2025 British and Irish Lions Tour

Update

The winner kindly donated his winnings to the ERF. Thank you. The competition raised £130 in total.

Hot on the heels of the M6N comes the British and Irish Lions Rugby Tour 2025 of Australia and we are doing another competition. This time entrants need to guess the 15 members of the team that play the first test match on 19th July.

2025 Elizabeth McNamara London Marathon

Lizzy Macnamara was a close friend of Ella, and also our family as she came camping in Pembrokeshire with us for a few years. She ran the London marathon to raise money for the Ella Rose Fund. She completed it within her target time and raised £1175, more than double her target of £500. Valero, the company that Lizzy works for in Pembrokeshire, matched her £500 and we are very grateful to them for that donation. If you would like to sponsor Lizzy you can still do so at:

2025 St George's Talk

We held an event in St George's, Bristol to raise awareness of EUPD. A friend, Andy Street, invited lots of influential people including the Lord Lieutenant, The High Sheriff and representatives from Bristol City Council, the NHS, the police, various companies and others. All attendees seemed to find the talks interesting and hopefully some funding may be forthcoming.

2025 Needle Felting Workshop

A needlefelting workshop was held by Julia in Lewes for a group of ten friends. They worked from 10am to 3 or 4pm designing individual pictures which they took home. A delicious lunch and teas and coffees kept everyone going and a grand total of £645 was collected from donations. Thank you Eileen for hosting such a lovely day!

2025 Men's Six Nations

We have once again organised a Mens Six Nations Rugby Championship competition where people guess the order of the final table of results with a tie-breaker of the total number of tries scored throughout the competition. We had 24 entries this time so that is £260 (the £20 prize was also donated by the winner - thank you!) into the ERF. We'll be doing a competition for the Lions tour too in June.

2024 FestElla

Update

FestElla was even better than expected! We had about 80 people who came to enjoy the music and they weren't disappointed. The weather changed to clear, dry and relatively warm on Saturday (following a wet Friday and followed by a wet Sunday) allowing us to start with David's busking set out on the terrace of the Mariners. The wood fired pizza team did a great job of feeding us delicious pizzas. We then moved into the Mariners and heard music by The Mistakings (Eli, Katharine, Anna and Ferg), Grace and Charlotte and rounded off by Daisy's DJ-ing set.

Many thanks to all our musicians and of course a very big thanks to Hop and Julie of the Mariners who lent us the venue.

Watch this space for news about the next FestElla!

2023 Matt Ironman Barcelona

Update

Our lovely neighbour, Matt (on the left), has completed the Ironman Barcelona challenge with his friends Paul and George and they have raised over £2200 for the Ella Rose Fund. The race, which took place on Sunday 1st October, consisted of 3.8km sea swim followed by180.2km cycle and, as if that wasn't enough, finishing with a marathon run. What an achievvement!
A big thank you to all three of them and to all the people who sponsored them. You ARE making a difference.

2023 Ben's Dragons Back Race

Update

Just to let you know that Ben 'broke the dragon's back' i.e. completed the 380km run,17400m climb in 6 days. It took him just over 86 hours of running, scrambling up and down mountains - Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the Cambrian Mountains and the Brecon Beacons - and he reached the finish on Saturday night within the time limits. A fantastic achievement by Ben, raising £1500 for the Ella Rose Fund. Thank you so much to Ben and to those of you who sponsored him.

Ella's cousin, Ben, is running the Dragon's Back Race, a gruelling 6 day run from Conwy Castle to Cardiff Castle via Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons. He is raising money for the Ella Rose Fund and CALM, a suicide prevention helpline. It is an amazing challenge to run for that distance (380km/236 miles) and for that length of time. If you would like to support him and the Ella Rose Fund by donating please go to Ben's JustGiving page. If you can't donate at the moment it is worth looking at the website anyway just to see what a feat it is to run the toughest mountain race in the world!

2023 Rugby World Cup

We have set up a small sweepstake amongst our friends (and their friends!) who like rugby to predict the quarterfinals, semi finals, final teams and winner of this year's Rugby World Cup. We charged £10 to enter and the winner doubles their money. A simple idea but easy and fun way to raise £170 for this worthwhile cause.
Can you think of a way you could do something similar? Let us know and we will post it on here.

2023 Needle Felting Workshop, June

Julia, Ella's mum, held a needlefelting workshop for a group of friends holidaying in Tenby. A lovely time was had by all, stabbing wool to make pictures. Thank you to Anne, a close family friend , for hosting the session and for providing a delicious lunch. We raised £240 for the fund.
